Nearby, in Muehlhausen you find a wave swimming pool with slides for children, sauna and - in summer - an open air swimming pool, and Bad Langensalza offers a brine and thermal bath with sauna, massages and cosmetic applications - in quiet health resort atmosphere. In Seebach, you visit the Moated Castle, built in 1200. Here, a state-run experimental bird protection center was founded in 1908. It is the oldest institute for bird protection in Germany. Next to the Moated Castle there is an idyllic village pond and a park. You can hike to Muehlhausen from here. It will take you about 2.5 hours. In the same time and distance you can hike to the Celtic and Germanic Place of Worship at Niederdorla. In Seebach you buy direct from the farmers. Between the end of April and June 24th, you get fresh asparagus right from the fields.
