Unstrut Werra Cycling Trail (20 miles) - the trail is signposted: You start in Muehlhausen, ride past the Swan Pond to the Poppenroeder Spring, turn right at the Poppenroeder Spring, take the field path along the Thomas Pond, turn into Heyerode country road up to Weidensee Estate, from Weidensee Estate take the field path to Oberdorla, ride past the village common to Langula, in Langula ride through the village center across the very busy main road, take the Forst street to the Heyerode country road, follow the former railway track north of Heyerode from the Heyerode train station, continue on the former rail track from Diedorf train station to the Haselbach Valley, ride past the train station through the village at Wendehausen, continue along the Haselbach Valley, take the country road to Heldra and Treffurt. Heyerode at Hainich National Park is the highest point of the tour. From Muehlhausen you will have climbed approximately 60 feet. From Heyerode, you descend approximately 75 feet to the Werra valley. In 2004 the Thuringian Geographical Institute has published a new topographical map including hiking and cycling trails "Southern Eichsfeld - Hainich - Werratal". The map "Northern Eichsfeld" dates from 2003.
