In the Hainich National Park you hike through nature and history: Walk to the Begging Oak via the Bummelkuppen Trail from Lauterbach or via the Begging Oak Trail near Kammerforst. ![]() Take the Nachtigallen Trail to the Silber Lake from the Kindel Parking Lot between Grossenlupnitz and Behringen. Go on an excursion at Oberdorla to the Celtic and Germanic Place of Worship. Visit the Bird Protection Center in the 800 years old Moated Castle at Seebach. Hike along the Rennstieg Trail across the ridge of the Hainich plateau from Eigenrieden to Behringen. Discover Nature at the Trail near Weberstedt. In 2004 the Thuringian Geographical Institute has published a new topographical map including hiking and cycling trails "Southern Eichsfeld - Hainich - Werratal". The map "Northern Eichsfeld" dates from 2003.
